The average number of staff in 2017 was 1,407 people, with an average age of 44.94, and a period of employment at the company of 13.33 years. The percentage of the workforce on an indefinite contract is 79.83%, while 78.86% of the contracts are full-time and only 0.98% are part-time.
In recent years we have seen an upward trend in recruitment, which increases our staff numbers. The recruitment of women follows an upward trend, as a result of the work and measures implemented in terms of equal opportunities.

The bulk of the staff reached the education level of Baccalaureate or A-level, but in recent years the staff’s average level of educational qualification has been increasing. Of particular note, in 2017, there is an increased number of staff with degrees.

This table reflects the business needs at different times of the year. Of particular note are the holiday periods in Parking and the Zoo; Park Güell increases its staff from March to September for the shoulder and high seasons, while the Civic Officers staff numbers were increased by order of the City Council.
When there is a need to fill vacancies in any part of the organisation, due to the creation or increased number of job posts, it is company policy to open them in the first place to application for promotion by people already on the staff. The rules for these promotions are determined and studied by the company's management and the workers’ representatives in the training Commission set up for it, and they are publicised through the internal communication channels.
